Empowering Children and School Managers through Hands-On Learning

Creating Learning Spaces Beyond the Classroom

The Community Learning Center is a vital after-school program that caters to government school children in the surrounding areas. This initiative is more than just a learning space for students—it's a research and training hub for our School Managers, offering them hands-on classroom experiences to test and refine teaching methodologies that can be implemented in our intervention schools.

Shaping Tomorrow’s Learners Through Play and Creativity

Our School Managers utilize an integrated teaching approach that combines play, arts, and communication to boost both academic performance and life skills. By incorporating creative elements like games, storytelling, and arts, we make learning an enjoyable and holistic experience for the children. The practical, on-the-ground exposure provided to our School Managers enables them to refine these methods for government schools.

Empowering School Managers to Lead Change

Empowering School Managers to Lead Change with children directly, gaining valuable classroom experience. By understanding the challenges faced by government teachers, they can devise more effective, hands-on solutions. This learning-by-doing approach helps them develop a strong foundation in teaching methodologies and contemporary pedagogy, which they bring back to our intervention schools.

Key Objectives:

Innovative Language Learning for Early Learners

This academic session introduces the Shikshamitra’s Accelerated English Learning Method at the Community Learning Center. This method is designed to fast-track language acquisition in young learners, making English more accessible and engaging for children from non-English speaking backgrounds. It aligns with the foundational literacy goals and equips students with the language skills they need for future academic success.

Supporting 40 Students and Growing

Currently, the Community Learning Center operates from a rented space and provides after-school education to 40 children in classes I and II. With its focus on foundational learning, the Center plays a critical role in improving literacy and numeracy outcomes for young learners. As we expand, our goal is to reach even more children, providing them with the tools they need for academic success.

Expanding Opportunities for Both Students and School Managers

At the Community Learning Center, we are committed to long-term impact. Our future plans include expanding our program to accommodate more students and offer additional learning resources such as digital learning tools, extracurricular activities, and special workshops in arts and sports. We also aim to strengthen our support for government school teachers by scaling successful teaching practices tested at the Center.
